South Coast Winter Cod Fishing on board Ocean Warrior 3, based in Newhaven Marina, East Sussex.

We have been catching some nice sized Winter Cod on our South Coast Winter Cod Fishing trips lately with Cod up to 6-7lb.  There are also some bigger Cod starting to show.  Squid bait has proved to be quite productive lately for the Cod.  However, we have also seen some good ones showing using the ‘Mackerel heads and fillets’, which is most unusual while South Coast Winter Cod Fishing on the ground.

South Coast Winter Cod Fishing on Ocean Warrior 3, only costs £55 per person plus any rod/reel hire if required for a day out fishing.

There have also been some nice sized Whiting being caught.  The bigger Cod though seem to be attracted to the cuttlefish bait, which are now beginning to show on the inshore marks.

South East Turbot Fishing

Ocean Warrior 3 offers some great South East Turbot Fishing.  We fish on the deep water sand banks for Brill and Turbot.  You can have a relaxing days fishing on the drift.

So far this year we have had some nice Turbot showing already.  This is Gary from Brighton of whom had a good day South Coast Turbot fishing with his mates and they caught some nice fish.  The bait we use while fishing for Turbot is fresh Mackerel.  We catch the Mackerel during our South East Turbot fishing trip when we are travelling out.  Sand eels also work well at this time of year.

While we are South Coast Turbot fishing, we drift for quite a long way on the sandy ledges, using an 8oz lead, a sliding boom and we use a 5.0 hook with a fillet of Mackerel.

We have also been catching some Cod and Pollock in the good numbers and the Cod have been reasonable sizes on the wrecks.  There have also been some good sized Black Bream up to 3lb 6oz on the small hooks while anchored to the wrecks.  There have also been plenty of Congers using the flapper baits.

If you fancy a days fishing for Turbot on Ocean Warrior 3 out of the port of Newhaven Marina on the South Coast, this is a good time for this.  Why not check out our website www.oceanwarrior3.com to check out the calendar with available dates.

We will soon be on the winter Cod fishing throughout October so if you fancy a day out fishing for the Cod, check out the dates available.

Sussex Sea Fishing Trips

Ocean Warrior 3 specialises in Sussex sea fishing trips off the south coast.  During some of our Sussex sea fishing trips, we enjoy targeting the Conger eels on the wrecks off Newhaven. Ocean Warrior 3 is based in Newhaven Marina on the South Coast.

Don and Andy Matthews had booked up 2 Sussex sea fishing trips.  They wanted to fish for Conger on these trips, so we concentrated on the offshore wrecks. The biggest Conger eel over the 2 days was caught by Andy and weighed in at 83lb 6oz. This is Ocean Warrior 3’s biggest eel this year, so far… (although, it is not Andy’s biggest, as he had 103lb Conger eel on our previous boat Ocean Warrior 2 in 2003!)

During their Sussex sea fishing trip, Mick Cox had the next biggest Conger eel of 65lb, which is the biggest Conger eel Mick has ever caught. The Conger eels were caught using Mackerel flappers and cuttlefish baits, using a 300lb monotrace and 8/0 hooks.

Andy and Don had a couple of nice eels up at the same time on one of the days during their Sussex sea fishing trips and both eels were over 50lb. During their 2 days of Sussex sea fishing trips, they caught 100 eels up to 83lb. They had a great couple of days and it was great sport fishing. All Congers were returned alive so that other Conger anglers can also have some good sport during their own Sussex sea fishing trips and it helps to promote the conservation of the Conger eels in the waters off the South Coast. The Conger eels can only get bigger by putting them back and it is always better for the future of Conger eel fishing.

We also caught some nice Black Bream to 4lb and also a few Cod on the Cuttlefish along with a good sized Ling on a Mackerel flapper.

We are now taking bookings for 2015, so if you are looking to book up a Sussex sea fishing trip, call David Elliott on 07966 377145 to make sure you get the perfect tide to fish for these Conger eels.

Newhaven Charter Fishing News Report – on Ocean Warrior 3

Newhaven charter fishing news report – on Ocean Warrior 3.  We have had some Cod and Pollock on the deep sea wrecks off of Newhaven.  Ben from Really Wrecked SAC chartered Ocean Warrior 3 for a day out wreck fishing.  They managed to catch 29 Cod and Pollock on the day while wreck fishing.  It was a long distance out to the wreck, 30 miles out of Newhaven Marina but they make a great addition to this Newhaven charter fishing news report.

Some additional news to add to this Newhaven charter fishing news report, which is, that there are also some big Plaice coming up already on the inshore muscle beds on the drift and also at anchor.  This is a great option if we are unable to get out to the deep sea wrecks due to the weather on the day.  This can be a nice fight using light tackle.

Also making a contribution to this Newhaven charter fishing news report is Albert’s crew.  They had around 30 Plaice inshore, mostly on lugworm tipped with squid baits.

Look out for more information on our Newhaven charter fishing news report – on Ocean Warrior 3, as we are starting Conger fishing this week.  So keep an eye on my website and see how we get on trying to catch the big boys!

Sea fishing – South Coast aboard Newhaven Marina’s Ocean Warrior 3.  We offer some great Pollock sea fishing – South Coast trips on the deep water wrecks throughout the English Channel.

Sea fishing – South Coast for Pollock can be a cracking day out as these fish offer a great fight for the anglers.  Neil Whicker and crew went out for a sea fishing – south coast trip and had a really enjoyable day.  He caught 11 big Pollock and his biggest was 15lb 12oz.  Everyone had some nice big Pollock to take home – which was great to see.

We have noticed that while sea fishing – South Coast for Pollock over the last few weeks, they are fishing really well at the moment on the deep sea wrecks.  Ocean Warrior 3 is expecting some big Cod to turn up soon, so keep an eye on my blog for the latest updates on the sea fishing – South Coast area.

If you fancy a day out to catch some big Pollock or for the Cod soon to arrive on a sea fishing – South Coast trip, give David Elliott a call on 07966 377145 or visit the website www.oceanwarrior3.com
