The weather has not been great of late for fishing, however, we have managed to get out on some Newhaven Fishing Trips.
Really Wrecked Sea Angling Club came out on a Newhaven Fishing Trip aboard Newhavens Ocean Warrior 3. ‘Scoop’ had the biggest Pollock of the day with this one at 16lb 4oz. He caught it on this Newhaven Fishing Trip while fishing offshore on the drift. He used a sidewinder lure, which the Pollock seem to like.

South Coast fishing latest report from Ocean Warrior 3.
It has been a while since our last report, but we have had the boat out of the water for some maintenance works and ready to start fishing for 2015.
We can offer you a great day either inshore or offshore fishing all year round. One of Ocean Warrior 3’s regulars went out on a south coast fishing trip, they were the Really Wrecked SAC crew. They had some nice sized Pollock to 19lb 6oz, which is the new club record and it was caught by Steve Newham.
This is a good time of year to go out south coast fishing – on Ocean Warrior 3. The wreck fishing is just starting to happen. This is the first run of big Pollock, then; the Cod will be turning up next. This wreck fishing takes place well offshore on the deep water wrecks off the south coast. The wrecks we fish on are ‘big coasters’ and ‘small coasters’, where the fish congregate around. Especially the unchartered wrecks which no-one has fished on them yet.
Newhaven is a small port, which offers free parking within the marina. It also has a tackle shop for your bait and lures. It also has a convenience shop and a cafe for breakfast before your trip. We are only approximately 90 minutes from London and also has a train station if you do not drive.
We cater for the most experienced anglers and also the inexperienced, which are new to the sport – come on try it out and have a great day on a Newhaven sea fishing trip.

Ocean Warrior 3 enjoys fishing the wrecks off the south coast. One wreck in particular is the ‘Mira’, which is a big wreck that lies off of the south coast of Newhaven. She is a British oil tanker which was built in 1901 and was sunk by a mine on October 11th 1917. She was laden with fuel and weighed 3,700 ton. During the summer months Ocean Warrior 3 likes fishing this wreck for big Bass by drifting over the wreck with lures. When the tide is in full flow, she throws up a large boil and a big scour on the east side of the wreck. The wreck lies on her starboard side and is 345ft long with a beam of 47ft. It is also a popular dive site and a good Bass wreck. This is just one of the thousands of wrecks to fish throughout the English Channel, especially in the Newhaven area.

There are some cracking big Pollack which run up the English Channel, which makes great wreck fishing.
Ocean Warrior 3 finds that January, February and March are the prime time on the deep water wrecks. We catch these hard fighting big Pollack using the ‘gilling’ technique and using rhubarb and custard or blue sidewinder lures. We find that the Pollack tend to swim high above the wreck (30 to 50) turns above the wreckage.

Newhaven Marina’s Ocean Warrior 3 will be staying in the water all though the Christmas holidays this year.
If you fancy a days Cod fishing, or if you fancy taking someone fishing to catch a big Christmas Cod – we are open for business. We will be fishing off the sussex coast out of Newhaven Marina over the Christmas and New Year period.
So, if you want to come for a day out to catch a big Cod, we also have rod/reels and end tackle if needed – just turn up and fish….. All types of anglers are welcome and we also provide tuition for those who haven’t fished before. Newhaven Marina also provides a cafe and a tackle shop near the boat.
You can book by email or by phone – just visit the booking page on www.oceanwarrior3.com or call Dave on 07966 377145.Google+
We are still catching some nice Cod on the inshore ground marks off the sussex coast out of Newhaven. This week we have been catching the Cod on smaller baits with worm and squid. The big baits of cuttle haven’t seemed to have been working this week. There are also lots of Whiting around, they seem to have got much bigger this week and have them to over 2lb, which are a nice eating size. The weather has been a bit kinder to us this week, but still waiting for it to get colder to hopefully see the bigger Cod showing once the temperature drops.
It won’t be long before we are back on the offshore wrecks of Sussex out of Newhaven to catch the bigger Cod and Pollack on the drift with lures.
We still have some spaces left for this year and are taking bookings for 2013, so if you fancy a trip contact Dave on 07966 377145.Google+
It won’t be long before we are back out on the deep water wrecks off of Newhaven. It starts the middle of January, through February and into March with the big Cod and Pollack running.
This was our biggest one earlier this year, caught using a sidewinder lure while gilling over a deep water wreck off of Newhaven.
If you fancy a days fishing for big Cod and Pollack, we are now taking bookings for next year so give Dave a call on 07966 377145 or refer to our calendar on www.oceanwarrior3.comGoogle+
