Colin’s crew booked up a Sussex fishing trip on the Newhaven Ocean Warrior 3.
They all had a good day while on their Sussex fishing trip on the deep water wrecks. Colin and his mate had 2 nice double figured Pollock on the first drift. They also caught plenty of Cod, Pollock and one nice Bass showed up for them, while they were out on their Sussex fishing trip.  Colin had the biggest Cod of the day which weighed 15lb.
With plenty of Cod and Pollock under their belts, we decided to try a new bit of Turbot ground. We managed to then find some nice Turbot and Brill, along with a Monkfish of which we hardly ever see while we are on our  Sussex fishing trips. We had good weather, good fishing and some good company – great day all round.

Sussex fishing trips off the south coast of Newhaven on the Ocean Warrior 3.  We can offer you some great sport on our sussex fishing trips on the deep sea wrecks off the south coast.  Danny from London booked up a sussex fishing trip and had a good day out catching some Pollock.  He caught 8 Pollock during the day and the biggest was 15lb 8oz, while drifting a deep sea wreck 30 miles out of Newhaven.  Everybody on the day enjoyed their sussex fishing trip and all caught a fish to take home.

If you would like to book up a sussex fishing trip out of Newhaven, then give David Elliott on Ocean Warrior 3 a call on 07966 377145.

Sussex fishing trips are ideal days out for corporate events and or stag weekends as rod/reel/tackle and bait can be supplied, just turn up and enjoy the day.  Newhaven Marina also provides free parking, a cafe, tackle shop and a bakers for your convenience.

We are hoping to get out this weekend to have a look on some deep water wrecks.  We shall see if there are any spratts on the wrecks and hoping for some Cod and Pollack starting to show.  The weather is getting a bit colder which should help this.  We will probably run south west, deep off of Brighton for the Pollack using the gilling teqnique with sidewinder lures.

We are taking bookings for fishing off of the sussex coast for next year – so if you fancy a days fishing in and around the english channel give Dave a call on 07966 377145.

South Coast Wrecks

Ocean Warrior 3 enjoys fishing the wrecks off the south coast.  One wreck in particular is the ‘Mira’, which is a big wreck that lies off of the south coast of Newhaven.  She is a British oil tanker which was built in 1901 and was sunk by a mine on October 11th 1917.  She was laden with fuel and weighed 3,700 ton.  During the summer months Ocean Warrior 3 likes fishing this wreck for big Bass by drifting over the wreck with lures.  When the tide is in full flow, she throws up a large boil and a big scour on the east side of the wreck.  The wreck lies on her starboard side and is 345ft long with a beam of 47ft.  It is also a popular dive site and a good Bass wreck. This is just one of the thousands of wrecks to fish throughout the English Channel, especially in the Newhaven area.

A nice story from Chris Hill, who fancied a days fishing off the sussex coast out of Newhaven Marina.  It was his stag party and he brought his friends and family along to share in the experience, as his ambition was to catch a Conger eel!  The party were pretty green to fishing and all hired rods for the day.  Chris’ first eel was a staggering 90lb!!  HIs friends and family had eels to 60lb on the day.  The story of the big catch went down well at the wedding speeches so I was told.  Cracking Conger for his first time sea fishing off the sussex coast.

Ocean Warrior 3 specialises in fishing the wrecks off the sussex coast at anchor for the large Conger and Cod.  This type of fishing is best between May through to August/September.

If you fancy a days fishing off the sussex coast aboard Newhavens Ocean Warrior 3, give Dave a call as we are now taking bookings for 2013.
